What makes PaperStone® so earth-friendly?
PaperStone® is a sustainable composite made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and PetroFree™ non-petroleum based phenolic resins. PaperStone® is VOC-free, including formaldehyde, and emits no radon gases, the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. It has been certified ‘food safe’ by NSF, the public health and safety company. PaperStone® is extremely rigid and dense. It is the greenest composite material available to designers and architects for many applications including: countertops, bathroom vanities, conference tabletops, window sills, custom furniture and more.
How is PaperStone® made?
Recycled paper is saturated with our proprietary PetroFree™ phenolic resins and selected natural pigments on our treater lines. Resin-saturated sheets are stacked together and moved into a press where they are consolidated under heat and pressure. The number of paper sheets pressed determines the finished panel thickness.
How does PaperStone® compare with other solid surface materials?
PaperStone® is the greenest sustainable composite material available on the market today. It is priced to compete with other solid surface products, but the ease of workability can equate to savings on installation. PaperStone® comes in natural earth-tone colours that are soft to the touch and offer a warm, distinctive ambience to any room, unlike the cold feeling of granite, marble or other solid surfaces and laminates. PaperStone’s non-porous surface provides a lifetime of stain resistance and the product absorbs virtually no water. PaperStone® contains no petroleum-based chemicals such as Polyester, acrylic or bauxite (coal) fillers. PaperStone’s superior strength allows innovative, cantilevered design capability and unlike some granite, PaperStone® emits no radon gases. It is heat resistant and has been certified ‘food safe’ by NSF, the public health and safety company.
What is it Technistone®?
Technistone® is a high performance quartz surface. It is a compact, hard, impermeable, composite product manufactured in the form of slabs with a wide range of applications in private, public and industrial sectors such as kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, tables, window-sills, flooring, etc.
What is a Quartz surface?
Quartz surfaces are created almost entirely with natural Quartz that is mined directly from the Earth. Since Quartz is one of the hardest and most common minerals on earth, a Quartz surface offers a rare combination of superior beauty and unsurpassed strength.
What is Technistone® made from?
Technistone® is produced from high-quality natural raw materials (crushed quartz, granite), mirror and glass granulates, a small amount of colour pigments and polyester resin. Approximately 93% of the product mass is formed by natural components; therefore the content of the polyester resin is about 7%.
What is natural quartz?
Quartz is one of the hardest minerals found in nature. The quartz content in Technistone® gives it extreme strength, making it very durable and resilient to every day wear and tear.
How does a Quartz surface compare to granite?
Quartz is a natural stone. With a Quartz surface, you get the look and feel of granite, without the porosity inherent in a stone slab extracted directly from the Earth. Maintenance of a Quartz surface is simple--just wash it with warm water. Unlike other stone surfaces like granite, limestone or marble, Quartz won't stain, and it never needs sealing or reconditioning. Granite, limestone and marble are porous stones that need to be sealed regularly with a chemical treatment. These surfaces can absorb liquids and food, risking potential staining and bacterial growth in the countertop.
What range of products are available in Technistone®?
Technistone® is an excellent surface choice for a wide variety of uses including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, shower and tub surrounds, custom furniture, tabletops, fireplace surrounds and window sills.
How does pricing of a Quartz surface compare to other natural stone or solid surface competitors?
Generally, Quartz surface pricing is comparable to granite and other high-end countertop options. Kitchen companies, dealers, fabricators, and contractors establish countertop retail prices. Their specific price can vary based on the requirements for each particular project (joins, cutouts, splashbacks, etc), and it can also vary across different regions of the country.
What are the benefits of choosing Technistone®?
Scratch, acid, compression, impact and heat resistance are Technistone®’s main advantages as well as being non-porous and easy maintenance. Technistone® comes in a wide range of colours allowing it to enhance any living space rendering it more modern and elegant.
Why should I choose Technistone®?
Technistone® is the ideal choice for residential or commercial application as it delivers uniformity in colour, elegance, durability and beauty.
